Kostas Akrivos (b. 1958) works as a teacher in secondary education. In Greece, he is considered as one of the most acclaimed contemporary fiction writers. Pandemonium (2007) was shortlisted for the National Book Centre Readers’ Award, Remember Alfons? (2010) for the National Book Centre Readers’ Award, and the Diavazo Magazine Novel Award, The Snake Sheds Its Skin (2013) for Klepsydra Magazine Literary Award, and Latest from Ithaca, (2016) for the Anagnostis Short Story Award. His works have been translated into German, Italian, Dutch and Polish.
