Old and high-esteemed intellectual, Fokas Koresios, has withdrawn from all publicity when he accepts Aspa Pampleki’s invitation to make a documentary about his life and work. We follow little Fokas back to the early 1930s, through his oppressive relationship with his pro-fascist military father, as well as his enlistment in nationalist Metaxas Youth. After Greece’s Liberation, he recounts how he fled to Paris with the woman of his life, where they both mingled with the circle of existentialists and surrealists and how he came to become the mentor of philosophical thought that he is known to be. Carrying the great burdens of guilt, Fokas exploits Aspa using her as his personal confessor and reveals to her all his deep hidden secrets, even his crimes… As a director, Aspa will have to face a crucial dilemma: Will she reveal the truth or will she succumb to the same old lies of History? A unique historical novel as well as a confession about multifaceted History.
