Eleni Priovolou was born in Angelokastro and lives in Athens. She studied political sciences. She has published twenty-one books for children and adolescents, eight novels for adults, a novella and a collection of short-stories. In 2010, she was awarded the 2010 NARC Readers’ Prize for her novel As I Wanted to Live. She has also won the Literary Book Award for Older Children from Diavazo magazine for her book The Cue (2009). She writes in search of order and purity of speech.
