Psych is a modern detective story. Apostolos Tao, the protagonist detective, lives in a sunny but dusty top-floor flat. His life isn’t bad, but it isn’t happy either. He takes on three cases. The first case involves a physics teacher who asks him to follow his wife. The second case involves a famous TV star, Marina Stratou, who has been receiving threatening notes from the notorious killer TV-Psych, a television-personality fanatic. The third case involves Kostas Daitsilas, whose wife, who used to work as a maid in the opulent villa of a well-known businessman, was killed.
Apostolos Tao wanders through the city searching for clues. He reads excerpts from TV-Psych’s diary. He goes to the school where the physics teacher’s wife teaches; he visits two television studios looking for TV-Psych; he invites himself to the businessman’s villa where he meets the businessman’s wife. As events unfold, and he finds himself increasingly involved with each case and entangled in the society that surrounds him, he wonders which is worse in this society: murder or life? Apostolos Tao eventually solves his cases, answers his questions, and finds some happiness.
