Christos Kassios, journalist, literary critic and great lover of old books, is enlisted to find information about the members of a forgotten literary society that operated in the 1950s. At first, he considers this search to be harmless and redemptive, since it distracts him from his daily life. Step by step, however, he will plunge into a dark landscape, a paper maze full of secret passages. Middle-aged and struggling to come to terms with the losses that haunt his days, the novel’s hero wanders around autumnal Athens in search of the traces of these unknown authors.
An unpredictable adventure in the world of second-hand bookstores, in a world where books star not as a collector’s item or commodities, but as the last ark of human sensitivity and inventiveness.
