A man is forced to accept a strange job in order to get out of the financial dead end he finds himself in. The company, which he discovers in the classified ads section of the newspaper, promises him prosperity and quick riches, allowing him to dream of a life he never had. Their collaboration begins under the best conditions and, without the slightest effort on his part, he sees his bank account grow rapidly.
But as time goes by, he realizes that nothing is as it seems, and he now finds himself trapped in a new nightmarish daily routine that gradually takes away his right to live and move freely. In the background are his sick mother, a helpless woman who is dying in her bed of pain, his lover and his painter friend, figures who, like moving puppets, play the role of extras, framing the hero’s personal impasse. A story about the futility of desires, about the definition of happiness by modern man, and about all that we sacrifice in the hope of a paradise we will never know.
