A family saga that begins in 1878 in Crete under the Ottoman Empire to end in 1978 right after the Greek military junta. The discovery of Knossos palace before Evans did, the quest for a woman who disappeared during a massive slaughter, a murder where the political crime stands side by side with vendetta, the history of a town in a rural, mountainous region of the Cretan island during the 20th century, are unfolded in this historical novel.
As the Cretan island has always been related to the myth of the Labyrinth, the “Century of Labyrinths” brings in contrast to the Age of Enlightenment its own light and darkness, its own view of all facts written or heard, as they could have indeed happened.
