23year-old Agim, an immigrant from Albania to Greece, often plays his clarinet in the main streets of Athens, while dreaming of a career as a professional clarinetist. So, when an unknown compatriot offers him work in a well-known nightclub in Athens, Agim accepts the offer, without a second thought.
This novel, approached entirely from the main character’s point of view, deals with the Albanian second-generation immigrants, who, living for many years between two homelands, no longer belong to either; those who feel alienated, but insist on struggling, even though they know reality usually crashes those who fail to fit in.
