At the beginning of the 1950s, in a village in Crete, 14 years old Fanouris discovers, at the funeral of a relative, that he has the ability to hear the thoughts of the dead. No one believes him at first, but when he publicly proves the truth of his claims, an uncle of his, realizing the potential of the financial opportunities opening up before them, convinces him to leave the village and start touring Crete, offering their services as “interpreters of the dead.” Fanouris will grow up rapidly as he will have to face lot of different people, his feelings and his conscience.
