Stavros Christodoulou was born in Nicosia in 1963. He studied law in Athens and then followed the path of journalism. His first novel, Hotel National, was published in 2016 (Kalenti Publications). His books The Day the River Froze (2018) and Three Stairs of History (2020) are published by Kastaniotis Publications. The Day the River Froze was awarded the European Union Prize for Literature (EUPL) 2020 and the Cyprus State Novel Prize for 2018 publications. His books have been translated into several languages and his short stories have been included in anthologies and collective works, such as the French-language anthology Le Grand Tour / Self-Portrait of Europe by its authors (Ed. Grasset, 2022).
