Soloup

Soloup (Antonis Nikolopoulos) is a cartoonist who collaborates with newspapers and magazines in Greece. He studied Political Sciences and obtained a PhD on Cultural Technology and Communication. His thesis is on History of comics in Greece. His first graphic novel Aivali received the prize of the best comics and best scenario in 2015 Comicdom Athens and the “Coup de Coeur 2016” prize at the 17th “Rendez-vous du Carnet  De  Voyage  Festival” Clermont (Ferrand/ France). It has been translated in French (Steinkis), Turkish (Istos), English (Somerset Hall Press) and Spanish (Mediterraneo). Aivali is the first graphic novel which is subject of an exposition of Benaki Museum travelling all over Greece. In 2015 Soloup participated at the collective exhibition “Ella” at Tricromia gallery in Rome and in the Ravenna festival. Aivali was shortlisted for the Doctors without Borders Prize. His second graphic novel The collector – Six short stories about a Bad Wolf was published in 2018 (Ikaros editions). His graphic novel about the Greek War of independence has been a best seller in Greece and translated in 4 languages.
