Michalis Malandrakis was born in Chania, Crete, in 1996 and now lives in Athens. He works in the fiction department of E.R.T., the National Radio Television Foundation. He studied direction in the “Lycourgos Stavrakos” film and television school, and he is also a graduate of the Communications, Media and Culture department of “Panteion” University. His first book titled Patriot (2019, Polis) was awarded with the State Prize of New Author (split in half). His second novel, titled Put the Music up, Please was published in 2023 from Polis Editions. His second theatrical play Sweet Dreams was produced in the Spring of 2024 at the theatre stage “Topos Allou” with direction by Maximos Mourmouris.
