Katerina Malakate

Katerina Malakate is a Greek novelist writing literary fiction and autofiction. Her work explores identity, the female body, neurodivergence, illness, grief, and the long-term effects of trauma, often through fragmented and emotionally restrained prose. Her novels have been published in Greece, where her work has received critical attention, including her novel “The Plan”, which was shortlisted for the Klepsidra Award. Her latest novel, “Faceless”, was published in Greek by Metaichmio Editions in 2020. She is the administrator of Greece’s largest online community dedicated to books and reading, she owns a small indie bookshop and currently serves as the Treasurer of PEN Greece. She writes in both Greek and English.

“Pine cone”, her first novel written in English, draws on her late diagnosis of autism and ADHD and examines unmasking, motherhood, and survival through the body. She lives in Greece with her family.
