Alexandra Deligiorgi was born in Thessaloniki, where she lives. She studied philosophy at the University of Thessaloniki and at the Sorbonne University. She is now a professor at the University of Thessaloniki. She was praised with the First State Prize for Essays for her work on Nicolas Kalas in 1998. She has published numerous articles in philosophy journals and literary magazines and has written articles for newspapers like, To Vima, Nea, Kathimerini. Her short stories have been translated into French, Dutch and German and published in foreign anthologies. Her prose work was the subject of a doctoral thesis at a German university (Verlag, J.B. Metzler 1997).
