Thirty-five-year-old Miltos finds himself in court fighting for custody of his son. He falls back into drinking and begins frequenting the casino. Meanwhile, Christiane, a filmmaker and screenwriter, takes on the care of a dog that Miltos finds, a decision that upends her plans to become, alongside her friend, the foster family of an eight-year-old boy.
Seven interconnected chapters, where the end of each one sparks the beginning of the next. The central characters, players sitting around the same table yet also pawns of Fate and Time, are bound to one another and to their environment by visible and invisible threads. Thus, every fall creates a chain reaction—sometimes catastrophic, other times the catalyst for rebirth and renewal—as the baton of action is passed continuously from the hand of life to that of death, and back again.
All of these difficult life stories are told through Maroutsou’s tender eye.
